Boards U brings together the world’s most respected commercial production companies to help develop and advance the careers of agency producers, creatives, account executives and clients involved in the purchase, creation and production of filmed content for advertising.

Enrollment in Boards U is limited and open exclusively to agency (and freelance) producers, creatives, writers and art-directors, agency account executives, business affairs managers and client-side marketers involved in commercial production and the origination of filmed content. Boards U is not open to production companies or reps, ensuring that students receive objective information in a closed and controlled environment.

Leading experts from hand-picked companies in each discipline of production work with former dedicated Boards production consultant Paul Mavis to develop independent, comprehensive presentations and support material outlining the key components of their particular field. This material is designed to help Boards U students fully recognize and appreciate the art and process of each discipline in commercial production.

Presentations will be developed to give students an impartial appreciation for each particular field, leaving each student with a firm understanding of the actual work that goes in to commercial production. Upon completion, students are supplied with a comprehensive Boards U take-away binder encompassing the fundamentals of each presentation, agenda, curriculum and a glossary of terms from each class. Some of these classes will include:

• Live-Action Production
• Visual Effects
• Motion Graphics and Broadcast Design
• Traditional/Cel Animation
• CG animation
• Stop Motion & Mixed Media Animation
• Editing
• Transfer and Color Correct
• Film and Digital Workflow
• Composing, Sound Design & Licensing
• Stock Footage
• Filming in HD
• Talent Payment and Business Affairs
• Digital Production
• Interactive and Mobile Technology
• Film Processing and Dailies

Boards U students will be given a student ID, which will allow them to log in to www.BoardsU.com and register for classes. On the day of the event, students receive Student ID cards and a Boards U Binder with dividers that correspond to each of the classes available at Boards U. At each class, students are given a presentation package that includes the agenda, key concepts, a glossary of terms and other support materials from the presentation that is placed in the designated space in the Boards U Binder.

In addition to the seven scheduled classes, there are three hours in which students are invited to meet the other 'professors' and find out about other areas of commercial production. In order to 'graduate', students must visit each of the classes and obtain hand out packages to complete the Boards U Binder.
